Despite losing Brett Favre, the Green Bay Packers are not losing national exposure.
ESPN will air Vikings/Packers as its first Monday Night Football telecast of the season. The game will be the first at Lambeau Field since Favre’s retirement, and the first ever trip to Green Bay for ESPN’s MNF.
Vikings/Packers is the first of an opening weekend doubleheader. ESPN will televise Raiders/Broncos in the nightcap, at 10:15 PM ET.
Previously, the NFL announced that its traditional Thursday night opening game would feature Washington against the New York Giants. NBC will televise that game, possibly at 7:00 PM ET due to the Republican National Convention.
