- Bill Walton: There is “no definitive timetable” for the return of the ESPN/ABC NBA analyst, who has been out for months due to a back injury. An ESPN spokesman says the network will “continue to evaluate his status on a week-to-week basis.”
- Mike Tirico: The ABC play-by-play announcer is clearly no fan of Soulja Boy. During the first half of yesterday’s Cavaliers/Wizards game, Tirico repeatedly referred to the seventeen year old performer as a “one hit wonder” and even went so far as to call him a “double A rapper.”
- Scott van Pelt: The well-liked ESPN SportsCenter anchor has been named the co-host of the aforementioned Tirico’s ESPN Radio Show. What was once known as The Mike Tirico Show now gets the creative name of Tirico and Van Pelt. Van Pelt will also host the 3:00 PM-4:00 PM hour, replacing Stephen A. Smith during that time period.
