Fresh off of controversial comments about Jazz fans and Mormons, ESPN analyst Ric Bucher has been assigned to Game 4 of the Rockets/Jazz series at Energy Solutions Arena on Saturday night.
Bucher will be the sideline reporter for the game, with announcers Dave Pasch and Rick Carlisle.
Recently, Bucher attempted to explain Utah’s home court advantage by saying that because “[t]hey’re Mormon“, Jazz fans have to “smile and be happy all the time. This might be one opportunity for fans to get vicious.”
Bucher apologized for his comments, though fans in Utah may not be very forgiving. Depending on the reception Bucher gets on Saturday night, ESPN could risk becoming the story.
