Their coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs may have ended, but Versus is not done attracting big audiences.
Versus drew a 1.4 cable rating with 1.5 million viewers for a World Extreme Cagefighting mixed martial arts telecast on Sunday, the highest rated and most viewed MMA telecast on the network.
The 1.5 million viewers is the most ever for a non-NHL or Tour de France broadcast on Versus. In the past few months, Versus has drawn some of its biggest audiences ever.
The WEC event, featuring Urijah Faber and Jens Pulver, was billed as “The Greatest Cagefight Ever“, and Versus officials were rumored to have been hoping for a 1.0 rating.
