Michael Phelps may not be the only one setting records at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
NBC continued its run of stellar ratings for the Olympics on Sunday night, as coverage of swimming and women’s gymnastics on Sunday night drew a 21.3/35 overnight rating, up 16% from the first Sunday in 2004, and the best overnight rating for the first Sunday at a non-U.S. Summer Olympics since 1992.
Through three nights, NBC is averaging a 19.8 overnight rating for its coverage of the Beijing Olympics.
In prime time (from 7-11 PM) NBC averaged 32.6 million viewers and an 11.1/30 among adults 18-49. By comparison, second-place CBS averaged 5.4 million viewers and a 1.3/4.
