The FedEx Cup came to an end on Sunday without much fanfare and with many fewer viewers than last year.
The final round of The Tour Championship drew a 1.8/4 overnight on NBC Sunday afternoon, down 45% from a 3.3/7 for last year’s event, which Tiger Woods won. The 1.8 is tied as the highest for any of the four FedEx Cup tournaments.
Third round coverage on Saturday, which aired from 12-3:30 PM to accommodate Notre Dame football on NBC, drew a 1.3/3 overnight, down 54% from a 2.8/7 for coverage last year, which aired from 2-6 PM.
The 2008 FedEx Cup averaged a 1.6 overnight rating, down 50% from a 3.2 last year.
