Despite featuring the #2 and #4 markets, the 2008 National League Championship Series is hovering near record low territory.
Game 4 of the Phillies/Dodgers NLCS drew a 5.0/8 final rating and 7.7 million viewers on FOX Monday night, down 39% and 37% from an 8.2/13 and 12.3 million for Game 4 of last year’s Red Sox/Indians ALCS, which aired on FOX on a Tuesday night.
The 5.0 is the fourth-lowest for a prime time LCS game on broadcast. Game 1 on Thursday night was the fifth-lowest rated.
Through four games, the NLCS is averaging a 4.8 rating and 7.3 million viewers, down 24% in ratings and viewership a 6.3 with 9.6 million through four games of last year’s ALCS. Phillies/Dodgers is also down 9% and 6% from a 5.3 with 7.8 million viewers for the 2006 Tigers/A’s ALCS, currently the lowest rated, least watched League Championship Series ever on broadcast.
