36 NASCAR races averaged a 4.34 rating across FOX, TNT, ESPN and ABC, up 4% from a 4.19 for the same races in ’07, but down 9% from a 4.75 in ’06. Not included in the average are the Budweiser Shootout and the All Star Race.
On FOX, thirteen races averaged a 5.74 rating, up 9% from a 5.26 in ’06, and the highest rating for NASCAR on FOX since 2005. TNT’s six races averaged a 3.55 rating, up 1% from a 3.5 in ’07. ESPN, which aired seven races this year, averaged a 3.31 rating, up 3% from a 3.23 for six races last year. ABC drew a 3.72 rating for its ten races, down 3% from a 3.84 for eleven races last year.
