A one-game battle for the AFC West title did not particularly enthrall television viewers on Sunday night.
The Chargers’ blowout victory over the Broncos drew a 10.6/17 overnight rating on NBC Sunday night, down 8% from an 11.6 for Titans/Colts in ’07. Ratings peaked from 9-9:30 PM with an 11.6/18.
Compared to the other choices NBC had for its Sunday night game, the 10.6 is above the 9.7 for Jets/Dolphins on CBS, but below the 14.3 for Cowboys/Eagles on FOX.
Though NBC finished #2 in prime time on Sunday night, behind CBS, the 10.6 overnight rating “[marked] the third consecutive week that ‘SNF’ was tops among all primetime shows in the overnights.”
