FOX: An NFL doubleheader drew strong ratings on FOX Sunday afternoon, though both windows were down from last year. The 17.0 overnight for Cowboys/Steelers was the best of the season so far, but marked an 8% drop from an 18.4 for the comparable Patriots/Steelers game on CBS last year. Meanwhile, the 11.7 overnight for the first game of the network’s doubleheader was down 16% from comparable coverage on the network in ’07.
FOX also saw lower ratings for its BCS Selection Show on Sunday night. The 6.8 overnight for the Selection Show was off 18% from last year, and was the lowest rating for the program in three years.
CBS: Florida’s win over Alabama in the SEC Championship Game Saturday drew a 10.4 overnight rating, up 73% from last year and the best rating ever for the event. Meanwhile the Army/Navy game preceding it drew a 2.4 overnight, even with last year.
Also on CBS, the 11.6 overnight for the lone NFL telecast on the network Sunday was up 29% from a 9.0 in ’07, when the network aired a doubleheader.
NBC: Sunday Night Football drew the lowest overnight rating for an NFL telecast on Sunday. The 9.3 overnight for Ravens/Washington was down 2% from a 9.5 for Colts/Ravens on the comparable night in ’07.
ABC: On the last day of the regular season, ABC’s college football tripleheader was down across the board. The 2.9 for the ACC Championship Game was down 31% from a 4.2 last year. The 3.0 for USC/UCLA marked a 21% drop from a 3.8 for the same match-up in ’07. Finally, the Big 12 title game drew a 5.9 overnight, off 19% from a 7.3 last year. All three games on ABC involved the same match-ups from last year.

Golf.
