FOX is set to make a major addition to its NFL studio team.
According to sources, FOX is set to announce that FOX News host Bill O’Reilly will join the cast of FOX NFL Sunday for the upcoming 2009 season. O’Reilly, the host of the successful The O’Reilly Factor program, will serve as a contributor to FOX NFL Sunday.
The move seems specifically designed to counter the presence of MSNBC host Keith Olbermann on NBC’s Football Night in America pre-game. Olbermann, host of Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, has frequently targeted O’Reilly in years past.
O’Reilly will also have a recurring role in the network’s MLB coverage, as he will also provide the voice of a new and improved Scooter, the talking baseball.
Sources say FOX will announce the move before the end of the week.
