Turner Sports is gearing up for NBA Playoff coverage on TNT, and for the first time, NBA TV as well.
Both TNT and NBA TV will air the same amount of playoff games as in past years, and there will be very few changes to the schedule. One change: unlike in previous seasons, NBA TV will not be producing its own telecasts, instead using local television feeds and local announcers.
TNT and NBA TV will share some talent during the postseason, including during NBA TV’s coverage of the NBA Finals, but Turner spokesman Jeff Pomeroy says “those assignments have not been determined yet.”
One big personality — literally and figurately — that could be available to Turner during the playoffs is the Suns’ Shaquille O’Neal. There have been “preliminary conversations” with O’Neal about a potential role on NBA TV during the playoffs, “but nothing has been established.”
Turner will announce its broadcast teams and schedule for the NBA Playoffs on Thursday.
