Day games may still be out of the question, but the World Series will have earlier start times this year.
USA Today reports that Major League Baseball and FOX have agreed to move up the start times of weeknight World Series and American League Championship Series games by a half-hour. Games will now begin at 7:57 PM ET, as opposed to the previous time of 8:28 PM.
With the earlier start time, FOX will begin its World Series coverage at 7:30 PM ET.
Games on Saturdays could potentially start even earlier, though games on Sundays will keep the old start time — “partly because of Fox’s NFL coverage.”
The earlier start for the World Series comes on the heels of the NBA moving Sunday NBA Finals games up from 9 PM ET to 8 PM ET and the NHL scheduling Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals to start at 5 PM ET.
