Update 9/25/22: ABC’s open to Game 7 of the Avalanche-Devils 2001 Stanley Cup Final, posted the night of Game 7 of the 2009 Stanley Cup Final.
As narrated by ABC’s John Saunders:
“The Stanley Cup Finals. Game 7. A revered moment in hockey lore last seen seven years ago. A game in which all things are equal. The past is meaningless and ten months of pain, sweat and sacrifice culminate in one last chance to attain hockey’s ultimate goal. Tonight one of these teams will complete the mission of sixteen wins and be crowned the Stanley Cup champion.

If you are cowardly, if you are faint of heart, if you are weak, you do not want to be in Denver, Colorado tonight — because the Stanley Cup is up for grabs in game number seven. The New Jersey Devils, they know what it is like to drink from the Stanley Cup because they did it just last year. Colorado looking to do it for the second time since ’96 and for Raymond Bourque, looking to get his name on the Stanley Cup for the first time in his 22-year career.”
