- Bob Ley, John Saunders and Chris Berman: The three longest-tenured SportsCenter anchors will host a special, 90 minute edition of SportsCenter on Sunday, September 6. While the episode will “primarily focus on the sports news of the day,” it will also feature “retrospective segments on three decades of ESPN.”
- Vin Scully: The legendary voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers is planning to return for a 61st and final season behind the mic in 2010, reports the Los Angeles Times. Scully cites good health as his reason for returning. Scully: “[a]t this moment, my health is excellent, and I’m leaning toward one more year.” (via Fang’s Bites)
- Bill Simmons: The ESPN personality is unlikely to guest host Pardon the Interruption, as had been rumored earlier in the summer. Simmons was supposed to guest host alongside Dan LeBatard, but Pardon the Interruption producer Erik Rydholm notes that “scheduling isn’t cooperating.”
