The recent rash of deaths involving well known figures has now extended to the sports world.
Steve McNair, the ’03 NFL MVP and former quarterback of the Titans and Ravens, was found shot and killed on Saturday. He was just 36 years old.
A female victim was also found dead.
ESPN began a special edition of SportsCenter covering McNair’s death at 5 PM ET. A rugby telecast that had been in progress was shifted to ESPN2. ESPNews is also devoting coverage to the news. As of 5:18 PM ET, NFL Network remained with regular programing.
