The season premiere of Saturday Night Football helped ABC win Saturday night in prime time.
Saturday’s Alabama/Virginia Tech game drew 6.6 million viewers and a 2.4/8 rating among adults 18-49 in prime time, according to preliminary numbers. ABC easily won the night in prime time, besting the second-place network by 60% in viewership and 85% in adults 18-49.
The numbers peaked at 7.7 million viewers and a 3.0/10 among adults 18-49 from 10:30-11 PM.
Keep in mind that these numbers are preliminary and measure timeslot data, not program data. For example, these numbers also include programming from 8-11 PM on the West Coast, where Saturday Night Football ended by 8 PM local time.
