Saturday’s Mississippi State/Florida game drew a 3.4 U.S. rating and 5.7 million viewers on ESPN, up 55% and 57%, respectively, from a 2.2 and 3.6 million for LSU/South Carolina last year.
Mississippi State/Florida ranks as the third-highest rated and third-most viewed college football game of the season on cable, behind Miami/Florida State (5.1, 8.4 mil) and USC/Ohio State (6.3, 10.6 mil).
Impressively, Mississippi State/Florida topped 3 of the 5 games of the Phillies/Dodgers NLCS on TBS.
Elsewhere last week, ESPN drew a 2.0 U.S. rating and 3 million viewers for Thursday’s Florida State/North Carolina game, up 11% and 20%, respectively, from Florida State/N.C. State last year (1.8, 2.5 mil).
Meanwhile, Rutgers/Army drew a 1.0 U.S. rating and 1.6 million viewers on ESPN2 Friday night.
