Monday Night Football continues to draw higher ratings than last season, but the numbers are less impressive with each passing week.
Monday’s Eagles/Washington game drew an 8.1 U.S. rating and 12.8 million viewers on ESPN, up 16% and 18%, respectively, from a 7.0 and 10.8 million for Patriots/Broncos in Week 7 last year.
Despite the increase, this marks the third straight week that ratings for Monday Night Football have declined from the previous week. Since Vikings/Packers drew a 13.2 Week 4, ESPN has drawn ratings of 8.4 (Week 5), 8.3 (Week 6) and 8.1 (Week 7) for MNF.
Additionally, Monday’s game ranks as the second-lowest rated and second-least viewed Monday night telecast of the season, ahead of only Chargers/Raiders in Week 1 — which began after 10 PM ET.
Through Week 7, ESPN is averaging a 9.2 U.S. rating and 14.7 million viewers for Monday Night Football, up 20% in ratings and viewership from last year.
