ABC’s college football doubleheader on Saturday was generally on par with last year.
Saturday Night Football, featuring Texas/Missouri or Oregon State/USC, drew a 3.6 overnight rating on ABC — even with last year’s comparable Missouri/Texas telecast. The 3.6 is the second-lowest overnight of the season for Saturday Night Football.
Earlier in the day, regional coverage featuring Penn St./Michigan drew a 4.4 overnight, up 5% from a 4.2 for comparable coverage last year.
Penn St./Michigan topped Tennessee/Alabama on CBS (3.7) and Boston College/Notre Dame on NBC (2.5) head-to-head.
This marks the third time this season that ABC’s late afternoon college football window has drawn a higher overnight rating than Saturday Night Football.
