- Dick Enberg: The CBS announcer is apparently interested in working play-by-play for the San Diego Padres. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that “interest is mutual and the dialogue ongoing” between Enberg and the Padres, but “movement has been glacial.” Enberg: “I think any announcer that loves baseball would certainly relish the opportunity to be the voice of the team in the town where he resides … At this point, it’s pie in the sky. … I think it’s inappropriate to make more (of it) than that now.” (San Diego Union-Tribune)
