Golfer Tiger Woods has been seriously injured in a car accident.
Early Friday morning, Woods struck a fire hydrant after pulling out of his driveway, and then “drove into a tree at his neighbor’s property.” Woods was transported to the hospital in “serious condition.”
Woods is the top earning athlete in the United States, and is by far the most recognizable name on the PGA Tour.
Orlando’s WESH reports that Woods “has been treated for facial lacerations.” The Florida Highway Patrol says that while “alcohol did not play a role in the crash … charges are pending.”
ESPN ran a scroll at 2:53 PM on the Woods accident. FOX News reported on the accident at 2:35, followed by CNN at 2:41 and ESPNews at “around 2:46.” MSNBC, which unlike CNN and FOX has been airing taped programming, “broke in about 2:50.”
