Though faltering somewhat the last three weeks, NBA ratings are still up double-digits on TNT.
Through 16 games, TNT is averaging a 1.2 U.S. rating and 1.9 million viewers for NBA coverage, up 20% and 22%, respectively, from last year (1.0, 1.5 mil).
After a blistering pace to start the season, TNT’s numbers have slowed down over the past three weeks. Five of the last six games on the network have drawn less than a 1.0 U.S. rating, including both games of last week’s doubleheader.
Neither the Cavaliers nor the Lakers have appeared on TNT since November 19, which may be one reason for the recent downturn. So far this season, every game involving the Cavaliers or Lakers on TNT has drawn at least 2 million viewers — while no other game on the network has drawn more than 1.5 million.
