The center of a unyielding tabloid maelstrom, Tiger Woods has announced plans to temporarily step away from the game of golf.
Woods announced on Friday that he will “take an indefinite break from professional golf,” during which he will focus his attention “on being a better husband, father, and person.”
In a statement on his website, Woods admitted to his rumored infidelity, saying that he is “profoundly sorry” and asking for forgiveness. Woods: “I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. … It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.”
