Bob Blackburn, the original play-by-play voice of the now defunct Seattle SuperSonics, has died. He was 86.
Blackburn was the Sonics’ first play-by-play voice, debuting when the team did in 1967. For the first 16 years of his career with the team, he was “the play-by-play announcer, color man and engineer.”
After 25 years with the team, Blackburn was replaced by Kevin Calabro.
