The voice of college basketball on ESPN is headed to the pros for the second straight season.
ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale will call the January 20 Jazz/Spurs game for ESPN, alongside play-by-play voice Dan Shulman. This will be the second NBA game Vitale has called for ESPN since the network regained rights to the league in ’02.
Last year, Vitale was the analyst for a Heat/Nuggets game on ESPN, part of an announcer swap that resulted in NBA analysts Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy calling a college basketball game earlier in the night.
This year, Jazz/Spurs will be the second half of a college-NBA doubleheader, with the first game featuring Wake Forest against North Carolina. The broadcasters for that game have not been announced.
