After a somewhat solid run in the ratings the past few weeks, NASCAR once again approached record lows on FOX.
Sunday’s Autism Speaks 400 from Dover drew a 3.7 final rating and 5.8 million viewers on FOX, down 8% in ratings and 6% in viewership from last year (4.0, 6.1 mil), and down 18% and 19%, respectively, from ’08 (4.5, 7.1 mil).
Excluding the rain-delayed 2007 race, this marks the lowest rated edition of the Autism Speaks 400 ever on FOX (2001, 2007-10).
Additionally, the 3.7 rating is the lowest ever for a Sunday afternoon NASCAR race on FOX, and is tied as the second-lowest for any race on the network.
Sunday’s race finished as the #3 sporting event on broadcast for the weekend, and the #5 sporting event of the week overall, behind NBA Playoff games and The Preakness Stakes.
