A pair of NHL second round matchups put up solid numbers on NBC.
Game 1 of Flyers/Bruins and Game 2 of Canadiens/Penguins each drew a 1.6 overnight rating on NBC over the weekend.
The Bruins’ win over the Flyers on Saturday was up 14% from Penguins/Capitals Game 1 last year, and up 60% from both Avalanche/Red Wings Game 2 in ’08 and Sharks/Red Wings Game 2 in ’07 (1.0).
Meanwhile, the Canadiens’ win over the Penguins on Sunday was even with last year’s Ducks/Red Wings Game 2 (1.6), up 33% from Rangers/Penguins Game 2 in ’08 (1.2) and up 23% from Sabres/Rangers Game 3 in ’07 (1.3).
Saturday’s game nearly matched the overnight for regional MLB action on FOX (1.8) despite having a much earlier timeslot (12:30 PM for the NHL, 3:00 PM for MLB).
