Viewers across the country will have a chance to watch much hyped rookie Stephen Strasberg over the next several days.
Versus will televise Thursday afternoon’s Syracuse/Buffalo Minor League Baseball game, featuring Strasberg’s final minor league start. The game, a simulcast of SportsNet New York’s coverage, will be the first professional baseball telecast ever on Versus.
In addition to the live afternoon telecast, Versus will air an encore of the game will air at 7 PM ET.
On Tuesday, MLB Network will televise Strasburg’s MLB debut, when the Nationals host the Pirates. Bob Costas will call the game, alongside Jim Kaat and John Smoltz.
The MLB Network telecast will be blacked out in Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C., with those markets receiving Padres/Mets instead.
