The finale of the 2010 FIFA World Cup was not just a hit on ABC.
Sunday’s Spain/Netherlands World Cup Final drew 8.821 million viewers on Univision, according to Nielsen fast-nationals, up 49% from Italy/France in 2006 (5.903 mil).
This marks the most-viewed World Cup Final ever on the network and the second-most viewed World Cup match — behind Mexico/Argentina on June 27 (9.405 mil). Overall, the match ranks as the third-most viewed for any television program in Univision history.
Viewership for the ABC telecast of the match was not immediately available.
