The Week 3 NFL national window put up strong numbers on CBS, if not as strong as in Weeks 1 and 2.
CBS drew a 14.0 final rating and 23.134 million viewers for Sunday’s NFL national window (featuring Colts/Broncos), up 28% in ratings and viewership from last year (PIT/CIN*: 10.9, 18.150 mil), and up 17% and 20%, respectively, from 2008 (PIT/PHI*: 12.0, 19.234 mil).
Sunday’s telecast ranks behind the first two national windows of the season, both of which drew at least 16.0 rating and north of 27 million viewers.
Overall, the telecast is the fifth-most viewed of the NFL season, behind the Week 1 national window on FOX (28.023 mil), the Vikings/Saints Kickoff Game on NBC (27.485 mil), the Week 2 national window on CBS (27.010 mil) and Cowboys/Washington on NBC (25.262 mil).
Though down from the first two weeks of the season, the national window topped Sunday Night Football on NBC (11.3, 18.147 mil) for the third straight week.
Dating back to last season, this is the 11th straight week the NFL national window has drawn a higher rating and more viewers than SNF.
