The second week of Monday Night Football had a small rise in overnight ratings on ESPN.
The Saints’ win over the 49ers Monday night drew a 10.6 overnight rating on ESPN, up 5% from Colts/Dolphins last year (10.1). The 10.6 also tops both games of ESPN’s Week 1 doubleheader, which featured Ravens/Jets (10.5) and Chargers/Chiefs (9.1).
Though up from both last year and last week, Saints/49ers drew the lowest NFL overnight of the weekend — trailing the early window on CBS (11.2), the singleheader on FOX (12.3), Sunday Night Football on NBC (15.2) and the national window on CBS (16.7).
The ESPN telecast drew a 19.5 rating in New Orleans and a 15.2 in the Bay Area.
Keep in mind ESPN Monday Night Football games are simulcast on local affiliates in the home markets. New Orleans NBC affiliate WDSU drew a 45.7 for the game, while Bay Area CW affiliate KBCW drew a 7.0.
