Despite a season-low for last week’s singleheader, ratings and viewership remain up double-digits for the NFL on CBS through Week 8 of the season.
Sunday’s NFL singleheader window, featuring Jaguars/Cowboys, earned an 8.6 final rating and 13.963 million viewers — up 2% in ratings and 3% in viewership from last year (NYJ/MIA*: 8.4, 13.522 mil), and up 15% and 18%, respectively, from 2008 (SD/NO*: 7.5, 11.826 mil).
The telecast ranks as the lowest rated, least-viewed NFL singleheader window on any network since last year’s aforementioned Week 8 telecast.
Excluding games on NFL Network, this marks the lowest rated NFL telecast to feature the Cowboys since last year’s Week 1 singleheader on FOX drew the same rating.
So far this season, CBS is averaging a 10.9 rating and 18.029 million viewers for NFL coverage through Week 8, up 12% in ratings and 14% in viewership from last year.
