College football’s newest conference championship game is headed to FOX.
The Big Ten Championship Game will air on FOX, FOX Sports and the Big Ten announced on Wednesday. Under the agreement, FOX will air the championship game from the inaugural game in 2011 through 2016.
The 2011 game will air on December 3, in primetime.
The Big Ten title game joins a thin line-up of college football games on FOX. During the 2010-11 season, the network will air just one game, the January 7 Cotton Bowl.
Previously, FOX served as the home of the Bowl Championship Series (excluding the Rose Bowl and the 2010 BCS National Championship Game) from 2007-10.
