With no national championship implications, the final Big 12 Championship Game hit a four-year low in overnight ratings on ABC.
Oklahoma’s win over Nebraska drew a 5.3 overnight rating on ABC Saturday night, down 30% from last year (TEX/NEB: 7.6), and down 10% from 2008 (OU/MIZZ: 5.9).
In the 2009 and 2008 games, a trip to the BCS National Championship Game was on the line.
The 5.3 overnight is the lowest for the Big 12 Championship Game since 2006 (OU/NEB: 4.2).
Despite the lower numbers, the 5.3 is tied as the highest overnight of the season for college football on ABC, matching the number set by the October 30 edition of Saturday Night Football (ORE/USC*: 5.3).
Overnights for ABC’s other college football games on Saturday were not immediately available.
