Just two days after Comcast completed its deal to take over NBC came the first hint of on-air synergy between NBC Sports and Comcast’s sports networks.
NBC NFL broadcasters Bob Costas, Tony Dungy and Cris Collinsworth and NBC News anchor Matt Lauer will each make appearances on The Golf Channel morning show Morning Drive this week, according to a Monday press release.
Costas and Collinsworth will make their appearances on the show Tuesday, while Lauer and Dungy will guest on Friday.
On Monday, Morning Drive featured guest appearances by NBC golf analyst Gary Koch and CNBC anchor Nicole Lapin, the latter of whom will make daily appearances on the show.
NBC Sports and The Golf Channel are now corporate siblings after Comcast’s deal to take a majority stake in NBC Universal was completed last week.
Of course, NBC Sports already had a close relationship with at least one Comcast’s sports networks. NBC and Versus shared NHL broadcasters Mike Emrick and Eddie Olcyzk long before the Comcast/NBC deal.
