After a one week absence, the NHL on NBC returned with a decline in overnight ratings Sunday afternoon.
NBC earned a 0.9 overnight rating for the Rangers’ 7-goal win over the Flyers Sunday afternoon, down 25% from last year’s comparable game (DET/CHI: 1.2), and down a tick from the comparable game in 2009 (BOS/NYR: 1.0).
This is the third time this season that overnight ratings for the NHL on NBC have declined from the game on the comparable date last year.
The 0.9 overnight is tied as the lowest of the season for the NHL on NBC (7 telecasts).
