Ratings and viewership improved for both days of last weekend’s Honda Classic on NBC.
NBC earned a 1.7 final rating and 2.502 million viewers for final round coverage of the Honda Classic last Sunday, up 6% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (1.6, 2.324M), and up 13% and 15%, respectively, from 2009 (1.5, 2.177M).
The 1.7 rating is the highest for the final round of the Honda Classic since 2008 (2.1). That said, the 1.7 also ranks as the third-lowest for final round coverage dating back to 1997.
On Saturday, third round action drew a 1.5 and 2.114 million, up 25% in ratings and 29% in viewership from last year (1.2, 1.643M), and up 25% in both measures compared to 2009 (1.2, 1.696M).
This marks the highest third round rating for the Honda Classic since 2007 (1.6). However, the 1.5 is tied as the fourth-lowest for third round coverage dating back to ’97.
As recently as 2002, third and final round coverage of the Honda Classic drew ratings of 2.3 and 3.4, respectively.
