The penultimate game of the Bruins/Lightning Eastern Conference Final set another local ratings record in Boston.
Wednesday’s Bruins/Lightning Game 6 on Versus earned a 16.4 rating in Boston, the market’s highest rating ever for an NHL telecast on the network.
The Bruins had already set a local ratings record on Versus twice this postseason — once in the second round (PHI/BOS G3: 11.8), and again in the conference final (TB/BOS G2: 14.6).
Game 6 outdrew the season finale of American Idol on FOX head-to-head Wednesday night, topping the much hyped reality show by 9% (16.8 to 15.4) during the 8:00-10:15 PM timeslot (Boston Globe, 5/27).
Local ratings for Friday’s Game 7 were not immediately available.
