ESPN has officially announced the hiring of Bill Parcells and Jerry Rice, the latest and highest-profile additions to the network’s stuffed NFL analyst lineup.
Rice will contribute to ESPN’s SportsCenter, NFL Live and the weekly chat show Audibles. He starts September 15, making his debut on Audibles.
Meanwhile, Parcells will make “regular appearances” on Sunday NFL Countdown and will also contribute to Monday Night Countdown and SportsCenter specials. He makes his debut August 15 on Monday Night Countdown.
Rice’s hiring was first reported by Sports Illustrated; Parcells’ hiring was first reported by USA Today.
Rice and Parcells bring the total number of ESPN NFL analysts hired this month to five. Hugh Douglas, Eric Mangini and Damien Woody previously joined the network.
