ESPN NFL analyst Trent Dilfer will have a higher profile on the network’s Monday night NFL coverage this season.
Dilfer will join Brad Nessler on the call for Raiders/Broncos on September 12, the second game of ESPN’s Week 1 Monday Night Football doubleheader.
This is the second straight year Nessler and Dilfer have called the late Week 1 game.
The Week 1 assignment is just the beginning of an expanded role for Dilfer on Monday nights this year. As USA Today reported Tuesday, Dilfer will replace ESPN college football analyst Matt Millen as an analyst for the on-site portion of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown studio show.
