The Yankees/Red Sox rivalry generated season highs on both ESPN and YES Network.
Sunday’s matchup between the Yankees and Red Sox earned a 3.6 overnight rating on ESPN, the highest rated Sunday Night Baseball telecast in the metered markets since another game between the rivals in August 2009 (NYY/BOS: 3.7).
The previous high came in April, for yet another Yankees/Red Sox game (3.5).
The matchup was also a big hit locally. Friday’s game drew a 6.85 rating on YES Network in New York, the highest rated Yankees telecast on the network since Yankees/Red Sox on Opening Night in 2010 (10.01).
