Ratings and viewership for every NASCAR Sprint Cup race during the 2011 season.
After a down year in 2010, NASCAR ratings were generally up this season. Of the 29 races that can be compared to last year, seventeen had increases in ratings and twenty had increases in viewership.
Seven races drew less than a 3.0 rating, compared to ten such races last year. Eight races earned fewer than five million viewers, compared to thirteen last year.
That said, the numbers still largely trailed 2009. Of the 29 races that can be compared to 2009, 21 had declines in ratings and 20 had declines in viewership.
To the surprise of no one, the top race of the season was February’s Daytona 500 (8.7, 15.597M). Though up from last year, the race was the second-lowest rated and second-least viewed Daytona 500 ever on FOX.
The season’s lowest rating was a 2.6 for the AAA 400 from Dover and the Hollywood Casino 400 from Kansas. The Dover race was the least-viewed, with 4.093 million viewers.
