After touting the fact that every game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs would be nationally televised, one of the biggest games of the postseason will be joined in progress.
Thursday’s Game 7 of the Devils/Panthers first round series will be joined in progress on NBC Sports Network at the conclusion of Senators/Rangers Game 7 earlier in the night.
The game will be televised in full on NHL Network, which is in 36 million fewer homes than NBC Sports Network — and a whopping 56 million fewer homes than CNBC, which has been airing games throughout the first round.
Obviously, the more logical move would have been to air Devils/Panthers from start to finish on CNBC. It was not immediately clear why CNBC passed on the game.
