TBS hit a postseason high for Wednesday’s extra-inning battle between the Orioles and Yankees.
Wednesday’s Game 3 of the Orioles/Yankees American League Division Series drew 5.777 million viewers on TBS, up 28% from Phillies/Cardinals Game 4 in an earlier timeslot last year (4.507M), and up 24% from Giants/Braves Game 4 on the sixth night of the 2010 postseason (4.667M).
The game ranks as the most viewed of the 2012 MLB Postseason, surpassing last Friday’s Orioles/Rangers Wild Card game (5.304M).
The three most-viewed games of the playoffs have involved the Orioles — the Wild Card game, Wednesday’s Game 3, and Monday’s Yankees/Orioles Game 2 (4.222M).
Also Wednesday night, Game 4 of the Tigers/Athletics ALDS drew 2.651 million viewers on TNT, down 27% from Diamondbacks/Brewers Game 4 on TBS last year (3.615M). There was no comparable game in 2010.
In the first game of TBS’ tripleheader, Game 4 of the Giants/Reds NLDS scored 2.460 million viewers. There was no comparable window last year or in 2010.
