Political coverage and playoff baseball dragged down the ratings for last week’s NFL action on NFL Network.
The Week 6 Steelers/Titans “Thursday Night Football” game drew a 3.6 U.S. rating and 5.651 million viewers on NFL Network, the lowest rated and least-viewed NFL telecast of the season on any network.
The previous lows were a 4.3 and 6.435 million for Cardinals/Rams the previous Thursday night.
Thursday’s game faced competition fro Game 4 of the Orioles/Yankees American League Division Series on TBS (5.155M) and Game 5 of the Tigers/Athletics ALDS on TNT (2.266M).
Beyond sports, coverage of the vice presidential debate also impacted the numbers. While not as massive a television draw as in 2008, the debate attracted 51.4 million viewers across a variety of networks.
