Wrapping up last week’s NBA All-Star festivities, ratings and viewership hit a three-year low for NBA All-Star Saturday Night.
TNT earned a 3.3 U.S. rating and 5.9 million viewers for NBA All-Star Saturday Night last weekend, down 8% in ratings and 5% in viewership from last year (3.6, 6.2M), and down 25% and 27%, respectively, from the record-setting telecast in 2011 (4.4, 8.1M).
This marks the lowest rated and least-viewed edition of NBA All-Star Saturday Night since 2010, when coverage aired opposite the Winter Olympics (3.1, 5.4M). Keep in mind Saturday’s telecast faced direct competition from NASCAR’s Sprint Unlimited on FOX, which earned a higher rating but fewer viewers (3.5, 5.7M).
Despite the decline, the telecast ranks as the fourth-most viewed edition of the event ever on TNT.
As previously reported, Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game earned a 4.6 U.S. rating and 8.0 million viewers, up 5% and 13%, respectively, from last year (4.4, 7.1M). Last Friday’s NBA All-Star Celebrity Game (2.3M, -4%) and Rising Stars Challenge (1.9M, -31%) both had declines.
