One year after Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson lifted final round overnights to a 15-year high, overnight ratings cratered for the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Pebble Beach National Pro-Am earned a 2.9 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, down 43% from last year (5.1), but up 12% from 2011 (2.6). Last year’s tournament featured Woods and Mickelson in the final pairing.
Sunday’s final round barely eclipsed last year’s third round coverage, which earned a 2.8 overnight.
Though down from last year’s unusually strong results, the 2.9 overnight ranks as the second-best for any round of the tournament since the final round in 2007 (3.1).
On Saturday, third round action earned a 1.8 overnight — down 36% from last year’s 2.8, and even with 2011.
