All three Stanley Cup playoff games on NBC last weekend had declines in TV ratings.
Game 3 of the Blackhawks/Wild first round Stanley Cup playoff series drew a 1.2 final rating and 1.8 million viewers on NBC, down 40% in ratings from Penguins/Flyers Game 3 last year (2.0), but up 9% and 10%, respectively, from Capitals/Rangers Game 3 in 2011 (1.1, 1.6M).
Keep in mind last year’s 2.0 rating was tied as the highest for a non-Final playoff game since 1998.
Earlier Sunday, Game 3 between the Penguins and Islanders drew a 1.1 and 1.7 million viewers — down a tick in ratings from Predators/Red Wings Game 3 last year (1.2).
Saturday’s Rangers/Capitals Game 2 brought up the rear with a 0.9 and 1.2 million viewers, down 31% in ratings from Bruins/Capitals Game 2 last year (1.3), and down 10% and 22%, respectively, from Coyotes/Red Wings Game 2 in 2011 (1.0, 1.5M).
