With only a few days to spare before its Saturday debut, Fox Sports 1 has reportedly reached carriage deals with three major providers.
The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that Fox Sports 1 has struck carriage agreements with DirecTV, Dish Network and Time Warner Cable — adding over 40 million television homes to the network’s distribution. Sports Business Daily separately reported that DirecTV, TWC and Bright House Networks are “likely” to carry FS1 on Saturday, but have not yet officially reached a deal.
FS1 previously reached deals with Comcast, Verizon, Cablevision, and several other providers.
According to Sports Business Daily, FS1 is now “certain” to be available in the 90 million homes Fox executives projected when the network was first announced in March.
Providers that are unable to reach a deal with Fox Sports 1 will continue to carry Speed Channel, albeit a stripped-down version.
